Weert A. Freese
Weert A. Freese died at the home of H. P. Smit in Holland Saturday morning, May 12th at 7 o'clock. On April 26 he received a stroke of paralysis from which he never recovered being unconscious from the time he was taken ill until he died. The deceased was born in Ostfriesland, Germany December 21, 1820. In 1864 he and his wife came to America and settled in Ogle county, Ill. in 1869 they came to Grundy county, Iowa, where they resided until death took them. His wife preceded him but a few days. He leaves to mourn his loss one son Asjen Freese, and three daughters Mrs. H. H. Frerichs of Wellsburg, Mrs. Buus of Lenox, S.D., and Mrs. H. P. Smit of Holland.
The funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 15, 1906 and interment followed in the Holland cemetery.
