Death of Mrs. Fred Stahl

Martina Franken was born in Beschootenweg, Ostfriesland, Germany, June 26, 1879 and died Tuesday morning, June 23, 1903, at the home of her parents in Lincoln township. She came to this country in 1891 with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. Dreessman, and has since lived in Colfax township. On January 25, 1898, she was married to Fred Stahl. To them were born two children, one, a baby, died last February. The funeral will take place Friday at 12 o'clock, the burial will be at the Holland cemetery.

The cause of the death of Mrs. Stahl was consumption with which dread disease she has been sick about a year. In the spring they moved from the farm to Holland that she might be near her friends. She grew steadily weaker until a few days ago she was moved to the home of her parents in Lincoln township that her mother might be with her constantly. She died surrounded by those she loved and who loved her. She was ever bright and cheerful and full of hope. She will be missed by a large circle of friends.
