Funeral Services Saturday For Gosinus Kruger
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Pleasant Valley Reformed church for Gosinus Kruger, who died at his home in Parkersburg last Wednesday following a long illness from cancer. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church. The services were conducted by Rev. A. Linneman, assisted by Rev. William Everts from Waterloo.
Mr. Kruger was born in Germany November 20th, 1869. At the age of 23 he came to America. He located in Grundy county, Iowa. March 6, 1899 he and Anna Meester were married. All of their married life excepting the past eight years was spent on a farm in Pleasant Valley township.
He and his wife were full communion members in the Pleasant Valley Reformed church since 1907. He served as trustee from 1922 to 1936, and from 1936 to 1946 he served as deacon.
Mr. Kruger was preceded in death by his wife, who passed away on January 10 of this year. A daughter died in 1910.
Surviving are five sons, Henry, Bristow; Andrew, Wellsburg; and Dick, Jake and George, Parkersburg; one daughter, Mrs. Ned Freeseman, living near Fern; 11 grandchildren; one brother, Andrew, Iowa Falls; one sister, Mrs. Tile Huisman, Wellsburg.
