Obituary
Mrs. Herman Meyer

Mrs. Herman Meyer passed away on April 22, 1958, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. George Krull of Parkersburg, with whom she made her home for many years.

Funeral services were held on April 26 at the Parkersburg Reformed church west of Fern with Rev. Albert Moss officiating. Interment took place at the cemetery adjoining the church.

Mrs. Herman Meyer (nee Reka Lindaman) was born Nov. 12, 1875, in Ostfriesland, Germany. She came from her native land to America with her parents, Onno and Johanna Lindaman, at the age of 16 years in 1891.

She was joined in marriage with Herman Meyer on Feb. 15, 1900, who on April 13, 1941, preceded her in obtaining the Heavenly Reward.

After coming to America, Mrs. Meyer spent all of her years but six, living in Grundy county. During these six years from 1912 to 1918, they made their home at Madelia, Minnesota.

She went to her greatly anticipated eternal reward on the evening of April 22, 1958. Her death came at the age of 82 years, 5 months, 10 days.

She is survived by seven children: Eldrich of Webster City; Onno of Cedar Falls; Anna, Mrs. George Krull of Parkersburg; Joann, Mrs. Clarence Basness of Austin, Minn.; Mrs. Tillie Schoorman of Brighton, Colorado; Mrs. Reka Gronewald of Wellsburg; and Herman of Parkersburg.

She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Minnie Schaper of Esterville, and by 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 sisters, 2 brothers and 1 grandchild.

The radiant Christian personality and saintly character of this departed sister and mother who has been a member of the Church for many years, as well as a member of the Ladies' Society within the church, will cause us to recognize a vacancy, but we give gratitude to God for the years that have been hers, and for calling her Home at an hour in which she deeply longed to be with her Lord.
