Mrs. Everts' 10-month-old son, Corey, and a second passenger in the Everts vehicle, Mrs. Carrie Everts, 49, of Parkersburg, are hospitalized in Waterloo.

Mehmen and a passenger in the Shephard car, Karen Ceilley of Cedar Falls, were taken to a Cedar Falls hospital.

Shephard sustained only minor injuries and was not hospitalized. He was being held in Black Hawk county jail on $10,325 bond at last report.

The Dike emergency ambulance was summoned to the scene on a mutual aid call, and transported two of the injured to local hospitals.
