Obituary, Mrs. Geska Solma Miller

Mrs. Geska Miller, nee Solma, a lifelong resident of this community, passed away at her home on Wednesday morning at 7:30, May 20, 1942, following an illness of many months. She reached the age of 76 years, 4 months, and 14 days.

She was born in German township on Jan. 6, 1866. In the year 1883 she was married to Bernard Miller. Six children were born to this union. Her husband and two children preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her three daughters, Mrs. Wm. Everts, of Dike, Mrs. Adam Zapf of Grundy Center, and Mrs. Annie Schipper of Allison, and one son Jake and his family, with whom she made her home, and where she was well cared for, as she was an invalid for a few years, and required much attention, especially the last few months, she was helpless, and in great pain and agony. She kept faith, and prayed that the Lord would take her home, where she would be free from pain and suffering. She also leaves three brothers, Ralph, Harm and Christian, who live in the community of Ellsworth, Minn., and 19 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, besides many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 12 o'clock at the home and at 1 o'clock at the Reformed church 2 miles west of Fern. The services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. A. Linneman. Burial was by the side of her husband in the cemetery adjoining the church.
