A. Schneekloth Services Held

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 17 for Aerna J. Schneekloth, 92, a former Wellsburg resident, at 10:30 a.m. at the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church at Wellsburg. Rev. James R. Beranek officiated at the service. Mrs. Beulah Sietsema was organist. Casket bearers were Ryan Bakker, Kendall Bakker, Raymond Caselman, Bruce Bakker, Edwin Lund and Keith VanDyk. The interment service was held in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery at Wellsburg. The Richardson Service of Cedar Falls was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Aerna J. Schneekloth was born February 22, 1901, in Steen, MN, the daughter of T. G. and Fannie (Aukes) Arends. She married E. H. Schneekloth February 12, 1924, in Steen. He died February 11, 1969. The couple farmed in Luverne and then Herman, MN until moving to the farm near Wellsburg, IA in 1935. Aerna moved to Cedar Falls in 1969 and then was a resident at the Maple Manor Nursing Center in Aplington, IA. While in Wellsburg, she was an active member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church and was involved in many community activities.

Aerna is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Violet and Howard Lund of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren, Edwin Lund of Dike, Holly Caselman of Meadville, MO, and Judy VanDyk of Parkersburg; and three great-granddaughters.

Aerna died Monday evening, June 14, at the Maple Manor Nursing Center in Aplington. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.
