Funeral Service Held Here For Mrs. Lauterbach

Mrs. Alene Lauterbach died about 11:30 Wednesday morning, January 18, at St. Francis Hospital in Waterloo due to a massive heart attack. She had submitted to hip replacement surgery on the preceding Monday. She reached the age of 78 years, 3 months and 7 days.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lauterbach were held Saturday, January 21, at 11 a.m. at the Wellsburg Reformed Church. Rev. Jerry Jordan officiated the services.

Music was by Mr. and Mrs. Duane Murra who sang two selections. Marcella Neessen was organist. Flower attendants were Mrs. Clifford Bergman and Mrs. Kenneth Adams.

Pallbearers were Bernard Viet, Virgil Pruisner, Wayne Pruisner, Larry Pruisner, Ait R. Lauterbach and John Burch.

The interment service was in the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church cemetery.

Doyen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born in Pleasant Valley township, rural Parkersburg, on October 11, 1905, the daughter of Hildert and Effie (Hutting) Pruisner and received her education in the rural school in the area.

On January 12, 1928, she was married to Ben Lauterbach at Parkersburg. Following their marriage they lived on a farm near Buck Grove for four years. They then moved to a farm in Pleasant Valley Township, northeast of Wellsburg. In 1952 they moved to a farm north of Wellsburg.

Her husband passed away January 6, 1973.

In January of 1974 she moved into the town of Wellsburg to make her home.

Mrs. Lauterbach was a long time member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church of Wellsburg.

Survivors include three sons, Stanley L. Lauterbach of Waterloo; Dennis D. Lauterbach of Dike; Leland B. Lauterbach of Aplington; seven grandchildren, Connie VanDeest and Sheryl Lauterbach; Lori, Lynda and Michael Lauterbach; Toby and Ryan Lauterbach; one brother, Hilmer Pruisner of Parkersburg and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, those who preceded her in death were her parents, a son, Melvin D., in infancy, two brothers, Raymond and Minert Pruisner, one sister, Anna, Mrs. Saben Hagen and an infant sister.
