Mrs. Joseph King

Mrs. Joseph King was born in Pennsylvania, October 4th, 1860, and died at her home here suddenly of heart failure, Tuesday, May 27th, at the age of 58 years, 7 months and 23 days.

Her first husband, Alfred Carlson, died more than thirty years ago. In November, 1888, she married Joseph King. They have lived in this city for nearly twenty years.

She leaves five children, four by her first husband: Wesley of Gilmore City, John of Omaha, Mrs. Ann Young of Shamokin, Pennsylvania, and Will of Eldora; and one by her second, Earl of Sycamore, Illinois. She leaves two brothers and two sisters: one brother and sister near Long Beach, California, Mrs. D. W. Reid and J. W. Pepperman of this city. One son Ray Carlson was killed in France last fall.

The funeral services were held from the Baptist church Thursday. Interment was made at the Fifteen Mile Grove cemetery. All the living children were present at the funeral except Mrs. Young of Pennsylvania.
