SIEVERS

The community was startled last week on learning of the sudden death of J. B. Sievers which occurred at the home of his cousin, Jerry Huismann, last Friday afternoon. Mr. Sievers had been assisting Mr. Huismann in the harvest field and when he was taking his team to the barn one of the animals rubbed against him pushing him over and he expired soon after. Although Mr. Sievers had not enjoyed good health for several years, he had not complained of being poorly of late and death came without a warning, the extreme heat probably being partially responsible for his sudden demise. A remarkable fact about his death is that it occurred on the Sievers old homestead where all of the family who have come to this country have passed away. Mr. Sievers was a native of Germany and was passed middle life at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife and three daughters, Jeanette, Anna and Dorothy, the former being the wife of Fred Schwan of Emery, S.D., Anna, the wife of Harm Kruse, living near Parkersburg, and Dorothy is left at home with the sorrowing wife and mother. Funeral services were held at the Kuehne church Tuesday afternoon, burial taking place in that cemetery.
