At Rest

One by one they pass away. Another babe, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. VanderWerf, of Aplington, died at the home Monday, after a brief illness. Wilbur Clyde VanderWerf was born February 25, 1923, and only lived eight days to cheer the hearts of these fond parents who deeply mourn his departure. All that loving hands could do was done, when the Savior said, "It is enough, come up higher." Another angel has been added to the great throne above. Let the bereaved parents and relatives take comfort in the words of the Master, "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away; blessed be His holy name." The funeral was held at the home Tuesday afternoon, by Rev. Kicker, of Ackley, and the remains were taken to the Miller cemetery. Mrs. Ora Kenned, of Bucklin, Mo., a twin sister of Mrs. VanderWerf, was here to attend the funeral; also Charley VanTiger, of Grundy Center.

We had a little treasure once,
He was our joy and pride.
We loved him, Ah! perhaps too well,
For soon he slept and died.
All is dark within our dwelling;
Lonely are our hearts today,
For the one we loved so dearly
Has forever passed away.
