Rev. DeWerdt, pastor of the German Baptist church, at Buck Grove, died Wednesday about noon after an illness of ten days. The deceased has been pastor of the church for a number of years and his congregation and friends will sincerely regret his death. He was a good man and in the prime of life and a zealous worker and died with full hope of a glorious immortality. The funeral took place Friday at 2 o'clock and the remains were laid to rest in the Baptist cemetery near the church. Ten pastors attended the ceremonies, six of whom were pall bearers and three took part in the preaching services.
