Services Held For Minnie Lauterbach, 86

Minnie Lauterbach passed away at the Long Term Care Unit of the Grundy County Memorial Hospital at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, November 3. She had attained the age of 86 years, ten months and 11 days.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 6, at the Reformed Church of Stout, with Pastor Don Ringnalda officiating.

The organist was Elaine Schnell. The congregation sang "Nearer My God To Thee" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus." The recessional hymn was "Blessed Assurance."

The casket bearers were Gerald Johnson, Randal Johnson, Dennis Wilcox, Vernon Miller, Dennis Miller and Gerry Grove.

Interment followed at the Stout Cemetery, Stout.

Mrs. Lauterbach was born on December 23, 1899, in Beaver township, Grundy county, near Stout, the daughter of Gerhard and Martha Kruse Berends. She received her education in a rural Grundy school.

On November 14, 1923, she was united in marriage to Brunk Lauterbach in the home of the bride's parents in Stout. They farmed North of Stout, and also, by Fern, retiring in 1977. They then moved to Parkersburg in June of that year.

Minnie was a member of the Reformed Church of Stout, the Ladies Guild and taught Sunday School.

Minnie's husband, Brunk, died on April 30, 1981. She had been a resident of the Long Term Care at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center for the past four and one-half years. During this time, Minnie also enjoyed being at home with her family in Parkersburg at different times.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Brunk, one infant daughter, one grandson, her parents, three brothers and five sisters.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Irene Miller of Holland, Matilda, Mrs. Clarence Johnson of Allison, Virginia, Mrs. Delos Miller of Ackley and Darlene, Mrs. John Overman of Rhoads; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Maris, Mrs. Reiner Kalkwarf of Dike, Mrs. Elizabeth Engelkes of Stout and June, Mrs. Elmer Meester of Parkersburg.

The Schwartz-Engelkes Funeral Home in Parkersburg was in charge of the arrangements.
