J. Clauson Died At Nursing Home

Funeral services for Jacob Clauson, 84, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Stout Reformed Church with Rev. Albert Moss, pastor of the Pleasant Valley Reformed Church, officiating. Burial was made in the Stout cemetery.

Jacob Clauson was born Nov. 24, 1876, at Peoria, Ill. He was married to Mary E. Zindler at Sibley, Iowa, on Nov. 5, 1903. They farmed near Peoria until 1915, when they came to Grundy county. After farming near Wellsburg for five years, the family moved to the Stout vicinity where they farmed until 1937 and then retired to Stout.

Mr. and Mrs. Clauson became patients at the Reiners Nursing Home at Dumont on Dec. 6, 1957, and after Mrs. Clauson passed away, Mr. Clauson continued to make his home there.

He had been in failing health and passed away at 3 a.m. Sunday, April 9.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on Jan. 4, 1958, and by two brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are one son, Calvin J. Clauson, Dike; one grandson, Donald, Montezuma; two great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, and 1 brother: Mrs. Jacob T. Meester, Holland; John A. Clauson and Miss Katherine Clauson, both of Peoria, Ill.
