Mrs. H. Lumken's Funeral Friday

Mrs. Herman Lumken, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tamme Tammen, was born at Alton, Ill., Feb. 17, 1875. When a small child the family came to Iowa and lived near Fern. Following her marriage Feb. 12, 1907, to Herman Lumken, they began farming north of the Salem Lutheran church, where they continued to live until her death early Tuesday morning following a severe stroke.

Altho she had not been well for some years, and fell and broke her hip last spring, her death came very unexpectedly. She reached the age of 79 years, 10 months 9 days.

Surviving are her husband; one son, Warren, at home; one brother, R. L. Tammen; one sister, Mrs. Chris Wilhelm of Parkersburg. She was preceded by her parents, two sisters, one brother, and an infant daughter.

Short services were held at the funeral home in Parkersburg and continued in the Reformed church in Stout last Friday, conducted by Rev. M. Weeldreyer of Allison, assisted by Rev. Frerichs of Parkersburg. Burial was in the Stout cemetery.

Those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mrs. Heye Wallrichs and son Ben, Mrs. Gesena Reiners, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Tammen and Geo. Tammen, all of Manson, Iowa; Mrs. Heye Ellingrod and Mrs. Cena Hale and son Charles, and Mrs. Kasjen Kramer, all of Stewartville, Minn.
