Former Grundy Resident Dead

Fred Volberding, former resident of Grundy county, died Saturday afternoon at his home in Forest Park, Ill., a suburb of Chicago. Mr. Volberding, who was seventy-two years old, had suffered with heart trouble for several years and this ailment, complicated by his age, caused his death.

Mr. Volberding was a nephew of the late Chas. Volberding of Reinbeck and his wife is a sister of Mrs. John Gauger. He farmed north of Reinbeck at one time, moving to Illinois about 35 years ago, but he still owned a farm northeast of Reinbeck. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Ardina and Malinda. One son died while the family lived in this county and is buried in the Weiss cemetery. Funeral services were held at the home in Forest Park and St. John's Lutheran church there Wednesday afternoon.
