THOMAS, JASPERS, UBBENA

Mrs. Herman Thomas died at Rochester, Minn., March 25th, where she underwent an operation for gall stones. Mrs. Thomas stood the operation nicely and was up and about when she was suddenly taken by a blood clot forming on the heart. Mrs. Thomas was born in Germany in 1852 and came to this country in 1865. She was married at the age of 17 to Harm Jaspers, who died in 1886. In 1906 she married Mr. Thomas, who passed away about fifteen months later. After marrying Mr. Thomas they resided at Kesley, but shortly after his death Mrs. Thomas returned to Wellsburg where she has since resided. The following children are left to mourn the loss of a beloved mother. Mr. and Mrs. John Schafer, Mountain Lake, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Ben Meyer, Titonka, Iowa, Jacob Jaspers, Comfrey, Minn., Ben Jaspers, Mrs. W. G. Harms, Ida Jaspers and Nate Jaspers. Those in attendance at the funeral from away were, Mr. Ubbena, St. Joe, Mo., John Ubbena, Ackley, brothers of Mrs. Jaspers, Mrs. Clufett, Alden, sister of Mrs. Jaspers, Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius DeBuir, a niece of Minnesota. Rev. Thielken of Belmond conducted the services and interment was in the Wellsburg cemetery.
