Mrs. M. Honken Dies In Minnesota
Funeral services for Mrs. Michael Honken were held at Reading, Minn., last Friday. Mrs. Honken died in a hospital in Worthington, Minn., Tuesday of last week following an illness of a year. She was 75 years old.
Mrs. Honken was a resident of Grundy county several years. She was a sister of Mrs. D. J. Beving from Wellsburg. She was married three times. Her first husband was Wiert Riekena. The second husband was H. L. Luitjens. Both the first and second husband are dead.
Surviving relatives are the husband and five children: Ben Riekena of Worthington, Minn.; Ella, Mrs. Clarence Bockes, of Grundy Center; Grace, Mrs. Fred Staker of Gladbrook; Hannah, Mrs. Dan Klunder of Grundy Center, and Mildred, Mrs. Al Smith of Long Beach, Calif. There are also 8 grandchildren.
Other brothers and sisters who survive are Wm. Boomgaarden of Minneapolis; Mrs. D. J. Beving of Wellsburg; Mrs. Anna Wait, Kankakee, Ill.; Mrs. Link Prins and Mrs. Jake Scherff, both of Worthington; Mrs. Minnie Pruis of Spencer; Wierd Boomgaarden of Howard, South Dakota.
Raymond Beving and family and Mrs. D. J. Beving from here drove to Reading Friday and remained there for the funeral services.
