Willy Storjohann Funeral Held Here

Willy C. Storjohann, 86, of Sunrise Hill Care Center, Traer, died Monday, Sept. 17 at 3:25 p.m. in Schoitz Memorial hospital at Waterloo. He had been a patient there five days.

Services were held Wednesday at 1:30 in the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home at Grundy Center with burial in the Fairview cemetery, Grundy Center.

He was born October 23, 1886 in Westerhauen, Germany, the son of Peter and Anna Christine Mohr Storjohann. He was married to Bothilbe Hansen April 19, 1908 in Germany. They came to New York in 1923, and began farming in the Lincoln-Gladbrook area. They moved to Lincoln in 1945 when he became semi-retired. He and his wife moved to the Sunrise Hill Center at Traer July 1, 1972.

He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Carl Nanne (Christine) Mable of Marshalltown and Mrs. John (Henriette) Bartusch of Marion, Iowa, two brothers, Henry of Gladbrook and Rudolph in Germany, one sister, Amanda Luitje in Germany, 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two sons, one grandchild, three brothers and two sisters.
