Gertrude Kelly Dies in Hospital

Gertrude Ethel Kelly died last Friday in the Grundy County Memorial Hospital. She suffered a heart attack six weeks ago, after which she was taken to the hospital where she remained a patient until her death.

Funeral services were at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Ferree Chapel in Grundy Center. The service was conducted by Rev. Basye, pastor of the Grundy Methodist church. Burial was in the family lot in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Miss Kelly was 80 years old on the 4th of February. She spent her entire life in Grundy county. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Kelly. She was born on a farm in Grant township. She attended rural school and later high school in Reinbeck. In 1894 she moved with other members of her family to Grundy Center. For 16 years she was employed in the office of Drs. Thielen & McDowell in Grundy Center.

Surviving are one brother, Logan, Waterloo; three sisters, Mrs. E. E. Starr, Lake Park; Mrs. John Clark and Mrs. Nettie Fritzel, of Grundy Center.
