Mrs. Della Johnson Dead; Lived In County 66 Years

Mrs. Della Johnson, who came to Grundy county with her parents 66 years ago, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Sheller, eight miles west of Grundy Center, shortly before noon on Tuesday. She was 80 years last March. She had been in failing health for more than a year and she was confined to her bed several weeks before the end came. Old age was the cause of her death.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Cedarville, Illinois, in March, 1858. She resided there until 1882 when she came with her parents to make her home in Grundy county. She was married to John Johnson in Grundy Center 62 years ago and during all of her married life she resided in Grundy Center. Her husband died more than 30 years ago. In late years she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Sheller.

Aside from her husband, her only son Tom and one daughter, Clara, preceded her in death. Surviving are two daughters, Janette of California and Mrs. Frank Sheller of Grundy county.

Funeral services will be at the Methodist church in Grundy Center at 2:30 Thursday afternoon. The services will be conducted by Rev. Earl Frantz, pastor of the Ivester church, and by Rev. J. B. Bird, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial will be by the side of the husband in the Grundy Center cemetery.
