Harry Kessler Died At Lincoln After Long Illness
Harry Kessler died at his home in Lincoln last Friday following an illness of a year and a half. He suffered a stroke in December, 1933, from which he never fully recovered.
Funeral services were at the log cabin church in Lincoln on Tuesday. Rev. Wickwire had charge of the service. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.
Mr. Kessler was 66 years old. He was born at Rockford, Ill., on May 17, 1869. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kessler. The family came to Holland, Iowa, in 1884. The father died in 1886. Following the father's death Harry made a home for his mother in various places. The mother died in 1924.
Mr. Kessler was married to Mrs. Florence Pierce of Marshalltown in September, 1924.
About 20 years ago Mr. Kessler engaged in business in Lincoln and continued there until failing health compelled him to retire about a year ago.
Surviving are the wife, one step-son, John R. Pierce, two brothers, Will of Holland, Ben of Marshalltown. There is one sister, Mrs. Ida Mae Castle of Watertown, S.D.
