Mrs. Elizabeth Murphy

After an illness of two years, Mrs. Elizabeth Murphy died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday of last week at her home in Waterloo. Had she lived until January 20, she would have been 60 years of age.

Deceased was born at Darlington, Wis., January 20, 1862. She came to Iowa when a young girl with her parents, who settled in Grundy county and lived on a farm near Grundy Center most of her life, having been married to William C. Murphy of this county. Following the death of Mr. Murphy, she went to Waterloo about a year ago, purchasing the home where she died.

Surviving are eight children as follows: John D., Cedar Falls, Ia.; William H., Indianapolis, Ind.; Mert D., Dike, Ia.; Raymond X., Wellsburg; Mrs. L. E. Cox, Waterloo, and Mary Ann and Kate R., twins at home.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 9th, at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart church, Waterloo, and interment was in the Grant cemetery near St. Mary's church.
