Old Settler Dies At Ripe Old Age

Mrs. O'Connor of Grant Township Passed Away Tuesday

She Was 92 Years Of Age

Grandmother O'Connor died at her home in Grant township at ten o'clock Tuesday morning. She was taken sick last Friday. Her advanced age had much to do in bringing on the end after such a short period of sickness. Funeral services were held in the Catholic church in this city this morning. Interment was made by the side of the husband in the Catholic cemetery here.

Mrs. O'Connor was 92 years old on her last birthday. She was one of the longest time residents in Grundy county. She was spry and vigorous during her old age, and up to within a few days before her death she occupied herself from morning until night with her household duties.

Mrs. O'Connor was born in Ireland. Her maiden name was Miss Mary Logan. She was the mother of nine children. Six of these are living and they were present at the mother's funeral. The surviving children are Mrs. Marian Howe, of Rolfe, Ia.; Henry, Dan; Mrs. W. C. Murphy; Mrs. C. C. Murphy of this county; Patrick of Darlington, Wis.; and John from Grant township. Aside from these relatives, Mrs. O'Connor is survived by forty-five grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. Mrs. O'Connor's husband died in 1902. Since that time she has made her home with her son, John.
