Owen Smith died at the home of his niece, Mrs. Wm. Mitchell at seven o'clock Sunday evening. Old age together with a complication of diseases was the cause of his death. Funeral Wednesday. The services were delayed a day to await the return of Father Hogan, as was the deceased request that he assist at the last rites if it were possible for him to get here. Father Hogan was assisted by the Revs. Breitbach and Leinihan from Blessing. Mr. Mitchell was eighty-two years old. He was born in Ireland and came to this country some forty years ago. He lived in Grundy county thirty-five years. Mr. Smith never married. The only relatives he had in this country is Mrs. Mitchell.
