R. Wanitschke Dies Suddenly
Rudolph Wanitschke died very suddenly in the farmyard at his home about five miles southwest of Grundy Center early Friday morning. He had been doing the morning chores and was returning to the house for breakfast when he was stricken with a heart attack and died very shortly before a doctor could reach him. He had not previously had any heart trouble and the sudden death came as a severe shock to members of the family and their friends. He was 64 years old last September.
The body was brought to the Ferree Funeral home where funeral arrangements were made. Rosary was said at the funeral home at 7:30 Sunday evening. Services were in Sacred Heart Catholic church in Grundy Center at 10 o'clock Monday forenoon. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.
The services were conducted by Father P. C. Bodensteiner, resident pastor, assisted by Father Justin Kress, former pastor of the Catholic church in Grundy Center.

Rudolph J. Wanitschke was born Sept. 12, 1895, in Ritschka, Czechoslovakia. He came to this country at the age of 17. He made his home in Nebraska for a year and a half after coming to this country and then came to Grundy county, where for a number of years he was employed on farms. On October 11, 1919, he and Frances Duschanek were married in Grundy Center. They began their life together on a Grundy county farm. For many years they resided on the Sternborg Sisters farm in Washington township and the past 12 years on the John DesMarias farm in Palermo township.
Surviving are the wife and two daughters. The daughters are Mrs. Russell Morrison from Hudson and Mrs. Robert High, Grundy Center. There are six grandchildren. One brother, Vincent, resides in Czechoslovakia.
