Mary Becker, Former Grundy Resident, Died In Ohio; Buried Here

Miss Mary Becker a long time resident of Grundy Center, died at Fort Clinton, Ohio, on Jan. 15. She had been in failing health during the past four years, but was confined to her bed but a week before her death. She was 72 years old on the 4th of last October.

The body was sent to Grundy Center for burial and it reached here Saturday morning and was taken to the Coffman funeral home. Services had been held at Fort Clinton in Ohio. Burial was by the side of her father and mother in the Grundy Center cemetery. George Becker, her brother, accompanied the remains to Grundy Center and remained here until Monday evening.

Mary Becker was born at Sterling, Ill. In 1882 she came with her family to Grundy Center. There were three children. The parents died here many years ago and one sister is also dead and buried in Chicago. Miss Becker and her brother George, who made their home together continually, left Grundy Center for Ft. Clinton, Ohio, 24 years ago and they resided there continually.
