Alonzo Cooley Dies At Vet. Hospital In Des Moines

Alonzo Cooley from Morrison died in the veterans' hospital in Des Moines last Sunday where he was taken for treatment five days before. The body was brought from Des Moines Monday to the Robinson funeral home at Reinbeck. It was brought to the home on Thursday. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church at Morrison on Thursday afternoon. They were conducted by Rev. R. L. Whitmore. Burial was in the Morrison cemetery. The Legion post from Reinbeck had charge of the services at the grave.

Mr. Cooley was 65 years old. He was born in Ogle county, Ill., March 21, 1870. He came to Iowa in 1891 and made his home in Grundy county since that time. He enlisted in the Spanish-American war in 1898, went to Cuba as a member of Co. B, 49th Infantry. He was married at Orangeville, Ill., March 23, 1911.

He leaves besides his widow, the following children: Harry, Tower Lake, N.D.; Clara, Norfolk, Neb.; Mrs. Alfred Reed, Haugen, Wis.; Logan, Doris, Mary, Zelda, Delmar, Donald and Lulu, at home.

He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Ed. Stout, Excello, Mo., and two brothers, Arthur Cooley, Freeport, Ill., and Earl Cooley, Deer River, Minn.
