Elmer Eggert Died Sunday In Indiana; Cancer Was Cause
Elmer Eggert, who had spent most of his life in and near Grundy Center, died last Sunday at Shererville, Indiana. He had been in failing health the past year due to cancer. He was 76 years old.
They body was brought by ambulance to Clinton. It was met there by Forrest Ferree with his ambulance, who brought it to the Ferree funeral home in Grundy Center.
Services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Baptist church in Grundy Center. The service was conducted by Rev. Rumley. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Mr. Eggert was born at Leade, Nebraska, March 2, 1885. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Eggert.Elmer Eggert and Ida Ford were married in Grundy Center Dec. 14, 1910. The couple met each other at Flandreau, South Dakota, where she had been teaching. After their marriage Elmer was engaged in draying in Grundy Center with his wife's brother Clarence for a short time. They resided on a Grundy county farm a number of years and for several years Mr. Eggert was steward at the Grundy county farm.
The past year Mr. and Mrs. Eggert made their home with their daughter and husband, Rev. and Mrs. Orville Masemore, at Shererville, Indiana. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary on December 14th of last year.
Surviving are the wife, one daughter, Eileen, and one grandchild, Joyce. Other surviving relatives are two brothers, Leslie and Royal, who reside in California, and one sister, Mrs. Evelyn Cavanaugh from Omaha.
