Services Mon. For Harry Timmer, 47

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon, Dec. 18, at the Dike First Methodist Church for Harry H. Timmer, 47. Burial was in the Dike Elmwood cemetery. Rev. Lloyd Bair officiated at the services which were arranged by the Dike Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Timmer passed away unexpectedly at the Sartori hospital in Cedar Falls on Thursday evening. He had been a patient at the hospital for four days.

He was born March 18, 1920, in Parkersburg, the son of Fred and Pauline Timmer. He was married to Lorraine Konken on July 2, 1948 at the Little Brown Church at Nashua.

He was a member of the Dike First Methodist Church, Dike American Legion Post No. 417, the Dike Volunteer Fire Department and Dike Danish Brotherhood Lodge. During World War II he served as a Seabee.

At the time of his death he was employed by the Maintenance Department of Grundy county.

Survivors include his widow, Lorraine; a son, Douglas, 16, at home, three brothers, Ralph of Highland Park, Ill., Fred of rural Dike and John of Marshalltown; six sisters: Mrs. Bertha Aswegan of Parkersburg; Mrs. Fannie Johnson of Boone; Mrs. Millie McQuaid of Chicago; Miss Harriet Timmer and Mrs. Lucille Cordova both of Chicago and Mrs. Tena Duisman of Dike. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
