Robert "Bob" Eslinger, 70, of Reinbeck, Iowa, passed away on July 10th, 2016. A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 13th, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the French Hand Funeral Home, in Reinbeck, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 14th, 2016 at the Union Congregational United Church of Christ of Reinbeck at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at the Reinbeck City Cemetery. Military honors have been accorded, and will be provided by the American Legion Post #242, of Reinbeck, Iowa. Memorial contributions can be made to the family to be designated at a later date.

Robert Jiles Eslinger was born to Jiles and Ethel (Lynch) Eslinger on May 4th, 1946, in Waterloo, Iowa. He was raised and educated in the area, graduating from the Reinbeck community school district. In August of 1965, Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he would achieve the rank of Sergeant. Bob served in the motor pool at Edwards AFB, California, and was honorably discharged in 1969. He was a member of the American Legion. Robert and Connie (Harvey) were united in marriage at the Reinbeck Catholic Church. The family would make their home in Reinbeck. Connie passed away in 1997. Bob met Shelly Phillis, and they were married on December 18th, 1999, in Reinbeck. Bob worked as a delivery man on a bread route and at Swift & Co. prior to working the family farm. In 2000, he became an employee of PCI where he would work until the time of his passing. Robert loved watching NASCAR races and tractor pulls. He would often drive to Independence and watch the races at the speedway. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife; Shelly Eslinger, children; Dale (Renee) Eslinger, Cody (Brittany) Dietz, Tyler Dietz, Noah (Kelsey) Dietz, Denise (Marc) Lamfers, grandchildren; Mikayla, McKenzie and Dalton Eslinger, Kinlee, Lane and Landyn Dietz, Heather and Samantha Lamfers, siblings; Dean (Linda) Eslinger, Connie (Stan) Siems, Eugene (Barbra) Eslinger, Father in-law and Mother in-law; Don and Jan Phillis, Brother in-law and sister in-law; Stacy and Chris Phillis.

In death, Bob rejoins his parents; Jiles and Ethel Eslinger, first wife; Connie Eslinger, grandson; Layton Dietz.
