Orla Hite, 71, buried Monday

Funeral services for Orla Hite, 71, Reinbeck, were held Monday afternoon of this week at the First United Presbyterian Church in Reinbeck with Rev. Clell Hickman, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial was made in the Reinbeck Cemetery with French Funeral Home of Reinbeck in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hite died at Schoitz Memorial Hospital in Waterloo early Saturday morning, Jan. 1, 1977, as a result of a heart condition.

He was born November 17, 1905, in Mahaska County, Iowa, a son of W. C. Hite and Emma McKissick Hite. He was married to Mildred Rice on February 24, 1929.

His entire life was spent in farming, the last 33 years in the Reinbeck area until his retirement in 1973.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred; three sons: Gene of Madrid, Bob of Arlington, Texas, and David of Reinbeck; one daughter Karen of Grundy Center; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three half-brothers and one sister.
