Tillie DeVries Services Held

Tillie DeVries, 84, of Ackley, passed away February 2, at Scenic Manor, Iowa Falls.

Funeral services were held at St. Peter's U.C.C., rural Wellsburg, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 5 with Rev. Ronald Fisher officiating.

Interment was in the church cemetery.

Tillie was born March 17, 1909, the daughter of Kasper and Fannie Boelman, in Aplington. She attended country school in German Township.

On January 11, 1930, she was united in marriage to Jerry DeVries at the German Township Parsonage. She was employed as a homemaker.

Tillie was a member of the St. Peter's U.C.C. in rural Wellsburg, Prayer Fellowship and Gleaners at St. Peter's Church.

Surviving is a son, Leo DeVries and his wife, Jo of Ackley; a daughter, Darlene Feikes and her husband, Henry of Ackley; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Calvin Boelman of Ackley; and a sister, Theda Janssen of Ackley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her parents; a sister, Theda in infancy; and 4 brothers, George, Joe, Bert and Bill Boelman.
