Rites Held For Eddie Pallman

Eddie Pallman, 81, passed away on July 9, at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center.

Funeral services were held July 12, at the American Lutheran Church in Grundy Center, at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Paul Nelson officiated.

Pallbearers were: Gene Huisman, Virgil Mackie, Lloyd Harmsen, John Reeves, John Kramer, and Vernon Reinicke.

Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center.

Eddie was born November 2, 1909, the son of Frank and Grace Thompson Pallman in Franklin County, Nebraska. Eddie grew up and was educated in Wymore, Nebraska. He came to Grundy County in 1935.

On December 3, 1936, he was united in marriage to Joy Stambaugh at the bride's parental home in Melrose Township, Grundy county. Eddie and Joy farmed in Grundy county and in the 1940's Eddie owned and operated an oil station in rural Grundy county. He also worked for the ASCS office for fifteen years. In 1976 Eddie retired and in 1982 moved into Grundy Center.

He was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Grundy Center. Eddie enjoyed hunting and sports, especially baseball.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, George; and 2 sisters, Anna Ottersberg, and Tena Ehnen.

Survivors include his wife Joy; one brother: Alfred of Marysville, Kansas; two sisters: Elsie Huf of Houston, Texas, and Sena Gerdes of Wymore, Nebraska; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center, was in charge of arrangements.
