Rites Held For James Slinker

James Robert Slinker, 43, of San Francisco, originally from Conrad, passed away on Friday, May 24, at Keyser Hospital in San Francisco.

Services were held on Thursday, June 6, at 1:30 p.m. in the Conrad United Methodist Church, with the Rev. David Crow officiating. Burial was in the Conrad Cemetery in Conrad.

James, the son of Robert L. and Muriel M. Bixby Slinker, was born on March 7, 1948, at Marshalltown, IA. He graduated from BCL High School in 1966, and then went on to attend the American Academy of Beauty, graduating in 1968. He moved to California, and was employed as a hair stylist.

He is survived by his parents of Conrad; two sisters, Mrs. Walt (Joan) Gethmann of Gladbrook, Jenifer Murty of Marshalltown, and one brother, Jack L. Slinker of Des Moines.

Johnston Funeral Home in Conrad was in charge of arrangements.
