Mrs. M. Gravenstein Rites In Conrad

Mrs. Margaret Gravenstein, 75, former Conrad resident, died Friday afternoon at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone, where she had lived since May, 1964.

Services were held Monday afternoon at the United Methodist Church, Conrad, with the Rev. Ray Howland officiating. Special rites were conducted by the Eastern Star. Burial was in the Conrad Cemetery, Stark-Welin Funeral Home, Boone, was in charge of early arrangements. The body was then brought to the Johnston Funeral Home in Conrad.

Mrs. Gravenstein was married to Ray Gravenstein June 1, 1931. The couple lived in Polk County and then came to Conrad, where they lived for 27 years. She was the news correspondent for The Grundy Register for many years. She moved to Des Moines in 1958 following the death of her husband.

She was a member of the Eastern Star, Methodist Church, WCSD, Entre Nous, and past matron of St. Elmo 398.

A daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Moore, is her only survivor.
