Services Held For Helen Thompson

Helen Heltibridle Thompson, 70, of Waterloo, died Thursday, March 9 from cancer at the Covenant Medical Center on Kimball Avenue. Services were held Saturday at the Parrott & Wood Funeral Chapel with burial at Rose Hill cemetery in Grundy Center.

She was born October 30, 1918 near Grundy Center, the daughter of Alva and Ferne Sherbon Heltibridle. She graduated from the Grundy Center High School in 1936. On May 8, 1946, she was married to Floyd (Short) Thompson in Conrad. He died April 23, 1965.

Helen was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for 39 years, retiring in 1982.

She is survived by three sisters, Margaret Skinner of Bradenton, FL, Lois Bern, of Reinbeck, Mary Haskell of Waterloo and one brother, Glen Heltibridle of Thornton, CO. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Heltibridle.

Memorials may be directed to the family. Following the committal service in Grundy Center, family and friends met at the Methodist Church for refreshments and fellowship.

Mrs. Mary Kinsinger, Grundy Center, was an aunt of Helen.
