Mrs. Elwyn Gould, 73, Died Saturday

Mrs. Elwyn Gould, 73, of Marshalltown died at Mercy hospital Saturday evening where she had been a patient for two weeks. She had been in failing health for several years.

Born Ina Marie Long, January 10, 1892, near Whitten, she was the daughter of Ezra and Kathryn Crombie Long. She received her education in the Whitten area.

On November 3, 1909, she was married to Elwyn Gould and they had made their home in Marshalltown for the last 41 years. Mr. and Mrs. Gould observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1959.

Preceding her in death were her parents, a granddaughter and a brother.

Mrs. Gould was a member of the Whitten Christian Church, the Eagles Auxiliary and the Relief Corp.

Surviving is her widower and three children; Mrs. Harold (Shirley) Ralston, Richland, Wash.; Mrs. Roger (Clara) Mueller, San Diego, Calif. and Maynard Gould, Marshalltown.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, a brother Rolla Long of Whitten and five sisters, Mrs. Mildred Weaver, Mrs. Flossie Paul, Mrs. Melvin Mitchell, all of Marshalltown, Mrs. Emory Baker, Conrad and Mrs. Glen Bachman, Albion.

Services were held at the chapel of Estel Perrin Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Dr. James K. Delahooke, pastor of the First Methodist church in charge. Burial was in the Benson Cemetery near Whitten.
