Dies After Short Sickness With Pneumonia

Death of Miss Bertha Severance After Four Days of Sickness

Miss Bertha Severance died at her home a mile north of this city Sunday afternoon after having been sick with pneumonia less than four days. Miss Severance was taken sick Thursday afternoon. Her case was considered serious at the beginning, rapidly grew worse until the end came Sunday afternoon.

The news of Miss Severance's death brought a shock to many of the young lady's friends, a large number of whom had not been advised of her sickness.

The deceased was a daughter of the late Chas. and Mrs. Libbie Severance. She was born in the home in which she died on the 5th of August 1882. She attended our city schools and graduated in the class of 1900. Miss Severance is survived by her mother, a sister, Gertrude, who is a teacher in the schools at Cherokee and a brother Frank who is at home.

Funeral services conducted by Rev. Curry were held in the Baptist church Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock.
