Heart Disease Result Fatal To Jno. W. Hoffman

Had Been Ill 12 Weeks; Former Resident at Dike And New Hartford

Cedar Falls, Ia.--John William Hoffman, 69, for 14 years a resident of Cedar Falls, died Sunday at 1:45 p.m. at his home, 2222 Walnut street, from heart disease. Mr. Hoffman had been ill 12 weeks.

Native of Illinois
Mr. Hoffman was born Jan. 22, 1864, in Stephenson county, Illinois. He married Dora Andersen on Dec. 8, 1897, at Fern, Ia. Following their marriage they lived at New Hartford, for 20 years at Dike, and in 1919 the family moved to Cedar Falls.

Widow, Daughter, Sons Survive
He is survived by his widow, a daughter and three sons: Mrs. Barbara Ditzler, Dike, Ia.; Maynard Hoffman, teacher at Watertown, S.D.; and Grant Hoffman, teacher at Allison, Ia. There are also three brothers and three sisters surviving: Harvey, Cedar Heights; Bert, Cedar Rapids; Ed, in Minnesota; Mrs. Sarah Ann Nolty, Brodhead, Wis.; Mrs. Frances Rocke, Cedar Falls; and Mrs. Emma Brown, Shell Rock.

Interment at Dike
Burial will be at Dike, Ia.

John Hoffman, a resident of Dike for twenty years prior to 1919, when the family moved to Cedar Falls, died Sunday at 1:45 p.m. at the home on Walnut street. Mr. Hoffman had been ill with heart disease for twelve weeks. He was born in Illinois on Jan. 22, 1864. He is survived by his widow, a daughter, Mrs. LeRoy Ditzler of Dike, and two sons, Maynard of Watertown, S.D., and Grant of Allison. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon at the Presbyterian church at Cedar Falls and burial will be in the cemetery at Dike.
