Mrs. Wm. Itzen Died At Holland Tuesday

Mrs. Wm. Itzen died at her home in Holland Tuesday from cancer with which she had been afflicted during the past year. She was 50 years old.

Funeral services will be held at the home Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock, followed by services at the Lutheran church in Holland. Burial will be in the Holland cemetery. Rev. Athenstadt, local Lutheran pastor, will have charge of the services.

Mrs. Itzen's obituary will be published in the next issue of this paper.

Large Attendance At Funeral Services For Mrs. Wm. Itzen

There was a very large attendance at the funeral services held for Mrs. W. J. Itzen at the Lutheran church in Holland last Friday afternoon. The services were conducted by the local pastor, Rev. Athenstadt. Burial was in the Holland cemetery.

Mrs. Itzen's maiden name was Christina Smit. She was a daughter of H. P. Smit. She was born in Colfax township Feb. 16th, 1883. She spent all of her life here. She was married to W. J. Itzen on March 13th, 1902. There are three children, who with the husband and father and brothers and sister, survive. The children are Mrs. Rudolf Voss (Fannie), Henry and Harm.

Mrs. Itzen's health began to fail three years ago. Seven months ago she submitted to an operation at the Marshalltown hospitals when it was learned that she was afflicted with cancer.

The many friends of the family are expressing their sympathy.

Relatives from a distance who were here at the funeral were Mrs. Menno Smit, her son John and his wife and George Smit from Madison, S.D., and Mr. and Mrs. John Haren from Sibley.
