Mrs. Theil Huisman Died Sunday Following Stroke

Mrs. Theil Huisman died at her home in Grundy Center Sunday. She suffered a stroke of paralysis three weeks ago and a second stroke came last Friday from which she did not rally.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at the home at one o'clock and at two o'clock in the Baptist church. Burial will be in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Mrs. Huisman was 76 years old. She was born in Simons World, East Friesland, Germany. Her maiden name was Harmke Voogd. She was married to Theil W. Huisman in the East Friesland church in German township May 10, 1884. They lived in Ackley during the early years of their marriage and then moved to a farm near Parkersburg. They remained there until 30 years ago when they moved to one of the Boies farms southwest of Grundy Center. They have been living in Grundy Center the past nine years.

There were nine children. Six of them with the husband survive. The children are William from Parkersburg, Peter, Mrs. Fike Saathoff and Mrs. Minnie Hinders, Grundy Center; Mrs. Tressa Rand, Parkersburg, and Mrs. Margaret Hooper from Everly, Iowa. There are 19 grandchildren.
