Verdene Siefken Died Friday After Long Illness

Verdene Siefken, the 10 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Siefken, died at her home in Reinbeck last Friday following a long illness. She had an attack of pneumonia nine weeks ago from which she did not fully recover and continued to get weaker until the end came.

Funeral services were held at Drake's church Monday forenoon. Because of the absence of the local pastor, Rev. Drake, Rev. Stratemeier of the German Presbyterian church, Grundy Center, officiated. Burial was in the Drake cemetery.

The Siefken family lived here until a year ago when they moved to Reinbeck. Surviving are the father and mother, one brother and two sisters.
