Mrs. Theo. Bottema Dies Leaving Nine Orphan Children

Mrs. Theodore Bottema died at her home in Washington township at eleven o'clock last Friday from kidney trouble and pneumonia. She was sick about two weeks. Her condition was regarded as very critical several days before her death.

Funeral services were held at the Catholic church in Grundy Center Tuesday morning. Burial was by the side of the husband in the Catholic cemetery in Grundy Center. The husband died on October 14th of last year.

Mrs. Bottema leaves a family of ten orphan children. The oldest, John, is 23, and the youngest, Reinard, is 7.

Mrs. Bottema was 47 years and 5 months old. Her maiden name was Wilhelmina Klein. She was born at Kloosterburen, Netherlands. She was married on the 27th of May, 1909, to Theodore Bottema. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Father H. H. Forkenbrock in the Catholic church in Waterloo.

Mrs. Bottema's mother, two brothers and one sister are now living in the Netherlands. There are two brothers residing in this country, Theodore Klein from Grundy Center and Louie Klein of Crystal Lake, Iowa. The surviving children are John, Henry, Catherine, Johanna, William, Angeline, Elizabeth, Mary and Reinard.
