Mrs. Fred Hess Is Dead at Home of Son In Conrad

Mrs. Tabitha Hess died at the home of her son Charles in Conrad Tuesday at 11:30 following an illness of more than a year.

Mrs. Hess was an early resident of Grundy county, coming here 66 years ago. She was the wife of the late Fred Hess. The family up to the time of the death of the father resided on their farm in southwest Palermo township. Following the death of Mr. Hess about 25 years ago Mrs. Hess made her home with her son Charles.

There are six surviving children: three daughters, Mrs. Ninnie Daggett, Mrs. George Harris, and Mrs. James Primrose, and three sons, Charles, Louie and John. There is one sister, Mrs. Josephine Hasbrouck, from Grundy Center, and one sister residing at George, Iowa. One brother resides in Chanute, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at the Alice church with the local pastor, Rev. Masemore, officiating. Burial will be by the side of the husband in the Alice cemetery.
