Former Grundy Resident Died In California

William B. Elliott, aged 80, for many years a resident of Grundy county, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James Swan, in Glendale, California, March 2nd. He had for many years been prominent in the Odd Fellows organization and they had charge of the funeral services. His remains were cremated at his request. His ashes will be brought here later for burial beside his wife in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Surviving are five sons and two daughters. A brother, Jerry Elliott, lives in Waterloo. His wife died on May 27, 1911. He was a brother-in-law of Mrs. J. R. Lamb and Mrs. D. A. Palmer and an uncle of Mrs. E. W. Martz and Walter Palmer. He was a blacksmith and wagon maker during the time he resided in Grundy Center. He moved to Marshalltown from here, where he was engaged in the insurance business. Since the death of his wife he made his home with his daughter.
