Mrs. John Lynch Dies Suddenly At Son's Home

Mrs. John Lynch died very suddenly at the home of her son Herbert last Saturday forenoon. She had been in good health up to Saturday morning when she complained about not feeling well. Her doctor was called out to see her and could find nothing seriously wrong but he advised her to take to her bed for the day. About 10:30 in the forenoon she passed away without warning. Her death was believed to have been the result of a stroke.

Mrs. Lynch had been a resident of Grundy county for 67 years. She was 85 years, 10 months and 7 days old at the time of her death. She was born near Freeport, Ill., and came to Grundy county when she was 18 years old. That was in 1865. In the spring of 1866 she was united in marriage to John Lynch and they made their home on a farm in Washington township until the spring of 1914, when they moved to Grundy Center and resided there until the death of Mr. Lynch, June 24, 1931.

Since his death she has made her home with her son Herbert.

To this union were born two children, Ella Undeen, who died in infancy, and Herbert, who survives his mother. She leaves to mourn her loss one son and three grandchildren and a host of very dear friends and neighbors.

Mrs. Lynch had always been blessed with good health, and she was a thorough home maker. She especially enjoyed the companionship of her grandchildren who since the death of her husband were her constant companions. Her last days were spent in the new home of her son where she was surrounded with every comfort and the companionship of those that she loved.

Funeral services conducted by Rev. P. J. Boyle were conducted at the home Tuesday forenoon. Burial was made by the side of the husband in the Catholic cemetery in Grundy Center.
