LaVerne Calvin Harris, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Harris, was born Friday, May 15, at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Harris, and died of convulsions Sunday evening, May 17. A short funeral service was held at the Harris home Monday morning. Burial was in the Alice Cemetery. Rev. Masemore had charge of the service. Mrs. Phillips and Mrs. Masemore sang, with Evelyn Phillips at the piano. Those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Males of Marshalltown, great-grandparents of the baby, Mrs. Webster and Cecil Males of Marshalltown, Mr. and Mrs. Charley Harris from Grundy Center and Mrs. Herb Harris of Beaman.
