Oldest Woman In County Is Dead

Mrs. Bockes Was Nearly 100 Years Old

Died At Home Of Her Son In Conrad

Grandma Bockes, the oldest woman in Grundy county died at the home of her son Dan in Conrad Tuesday. Mrs. Bockes was in her 98th years. The past forty-four years she had been a resident of this county.

Mrs. Bockes' death was due to old age. She was confined to her bed most of the summer.

During the long number of years that Mrs. Bockes was a resident of this country she lived on a farm near Alice. After the death of her husband she moved to Grundy Center and the past year she lived with her son at Conrad.

The surviving children are Mrs. Nancy Kretchman of Sommerset County, Pa., Lou, Mrs. Stultz and Mrs. Converse of Oregon, Sam, Henry, Mrs. Kinsinger, Dan and Will of this county. Aside from these relatives there are a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and there is one great-great-grandchild.
