Vivian Jane Hawley, 76, of Grundy Center, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at the Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Saturday, March 24, 2007, at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center, Iowa, with Pastor Larry Doughan officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 23, 2007, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center, Iowa. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center, Iowa. A memorial fund has been established.

Vivian was born March 23, 1930, in rural Black Hawk County, Iowa, the daughter of Jake and Anna (Molendorph) Rindels. She graduated in the class of 1948 at Cedar Falls High School in Cedar Falls, Iowa. On June 4, 1952 she was united in marriage to Roger H. Hawley in Austin, Minnesota.

She is survived by her husband: Roger of Grundy Center; a son: Steven and his wife Rhonda Hawley of Jacksonville, Florida; a son: David and his wife Janet Hawley of Elk Run Heights, Iowa; a daughter: Nancy and her husband Tim Wolthoff, of Grundy Center, Iowa; and a son: Randall and his wife Diana Hawley of Cedar Falls, Iowa; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; a sister: Helen Danner of Cedar Falls, Iowa; 4 brothers: LaVern Rindels of Waterloo, Iowa, Duane and his wife Maxine Rindels of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Eugene and his wife Stella Rindels of Shell Rock, Iowa, and Harold and his wife Georgia Rindels of Cedar Falls, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Beverly in infancy and Irene Juhl; and a brother: Calvin Rindels.
